This Privacy Policy describes how Spend X ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

1. Local-First Data Storage

The App is designed with a "local-first" architecture.

Your personal financial information, transactions, expenditure logs, and categories are stored securely and locally on your device inside a private database.

We do not collect, store, or transmit your financial transactions to our own servers.

2. Third-Party Services & Services We Use

To provide features like AI query parsing and to monetize the free tier, the App utilizes third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs). These third parties process data as described below:

A. Google AdMob (Advertising)

We use the Google AdMob SDK to display banner advertisements.

• Data Collected: AdMob may collect and process device identifiers, IP addresses, mobile advertising IDs (such as Android AAID or iOS IDFA), and general location coordinates (coarse location) to show relevant ads.
• Data Use: This information is processed by Google to serve, personalize, and measure advertisements.
• Opt-Out: You can reset or opt out of personalized advertisements through your device settings under Google Settings -> Ads.

B. Google Gemini AI (AI Assistant)

We use Google's Gemini Generative AI API to power the AI Assistant/Chat Advisor and parse natural language commands.

• Data Transmitted: When you send a chat message or ask the AI to summarize expenses, only the text input of your query and basic anonymized numbers are securely sent to Google's API servers.
• Data Use: Google processes this information solely to provide answers/summaries. Your financial data is not permanently stored by Google, nor is it used to train global AI models.

3. Permissions Requested

To perform its core functions, the App request access to:

• Internet: Required to load advertisements via AdMob and communicate with the Gemini AI services.
• Camera/Gallery (Optional): Required only if you use the "Scan Receipt" feature to crop and analyze receipts locally.

4. Children's Privacy

Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete it.
